Amit Shah Chairs High-Level CZC Meeting to Strengthen Regional Cooperation

Raipur, May 19, 2026/ Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council (CZC) in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, marking a significant step towards strengthening inter-state coordination and regional development.
The high-level meeting witnessed the participation of Chief Ministers, senior officials, and representatives from various states, where key issues related to governance, internal security, infrastructure development, and cooperative federalism were discussed in detail.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Amit Shah emphasized the importance of strong coordination among states to ensure effective policy implementation and balanced regional growth. He reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to strengthening law and order, enhancing connectivity, and accelerating development in backward and tribal regions, including Bastar.
The discussions also focused on improving coordination in tackling security challenges, particularly in Left Wing Extremism-affected areas, and promoting inclusive development to bring such regions into the mainstream.
Leaders present at the meeting highlighted the need for better sharing of resources, data, and best practices among states to ensure efficient governance and timely delivery of public services.
The Central Zonal Council meeting concluded with a collective commitment to work collaboratively for ensuring peace, security, and sustainable development across the region.
