Raipur, May 17, 2026/
In a major step towards strengthening “technology-driven and citizen-centric emergency services” in the state, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will launch the Next Gen CG Dial 112 Integrated Emergency Response Support System (ERSS 2.0) on May 18. On the occasion, a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle of the Forensic Science Laboratory will also be inaugurated.
Ahead of the programme, Chhattisgarh Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma inspected the event venue and reviewed the preparations on May 17. He directed officials to complete all arrangements in a timely and systematic manner.
The Next Gen CG Dial 112 is being introduced as an “innovative step towards smart governance” in Chhattisgarh. Through this integrated platform, services including police assistance, fire services, medical emergency support, women's helpline, child helpline, disaster management assistance, and highway emergency services will be available under a single system. The initiative is expected to ensure “faster and better coordinated emergency response” for citizens.
The advanced system includes modern features such as a centralised command and control centre, GPS-enabled emergency response vehicles, GIS-based real-time monitoring, an automatic call location identification system and technology-enabled dispatch management. Through the upgraded arrangement, authorities will be able to provide more effective support in crime control, women and child safety, road accident response, medical emergencies and other public crises.
The Dial 112 service, operational in the state since 2018, has already provided emergency assistance to lakhs of citizens. At present, the service is limited to 16 districts, but with the implementation of the Next Gen CG Dial 112 system, it will now be expanded to all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh.
