*CM Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Directs Formation of Additional Technical Section to Expedite DMF Works* *Special Focus on Developing Mining-Affected Villages as Model Villages* Raipur, May 16, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a review meeting during the Sushasan Tihar held in Raigarh on May 16. He issued important directions regarding the effective and speedy utilisation of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds in mining-affected districts such as Dantewada, Raigarh and Korba. The Chief Minister stated that the number and scope of development works in these districts are continuously increasing, and the existing technical and engineering staff are not sufficient to meet the growing requirements. He directed the Public Works Department to constitute an additional section and ensure the availability of the required technical workforce. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the utilisation of DMF funds should not be limited to construction works alone, but that their direct benefits must be visible to people living in mining-affected villages. He instructed officials to prioritise the development of villages affected by mining activities as “model villages.” He directed that better infrastructure and essential facilities, such as roads, drinking water, healthcare, education, sports facilities, community buildings, and other basic amenities, should be ensured in these villages. The Chief Minister said that people living in mineral-rich regions should receive the first right to development benefits. He instructed officials to work with “sensitivity and accountability” and ensure quality, transparency and timely execution in the utilisation of DMF funds.
